The difference our project aims to make:

Next Steps will continuing to offer support to the most vulnerable, isolated, complex,
elderly and those who suffer from mental health issue through their “Living well with”
hubs, sessions and activities. Sessions will be offered throughout different venues in
Ryedale with 60+ people attending each one regularly.
Outcomes and impact of the ‘Living Well Services include.

• Next Steps will deliver its ‘Living Well with’ programme on a rolling basis over a five
week programme. Each programme will have topics such as Living Well with loss,
loneliness, dementia, anxiety and depression, and diabetes.

• Beneficiaries will feel better connected, less isolated, have increased physical
wellbeing, feel less suicidal and have improved mental health. Beneficiary numbers will
vary depending on the venue. Ranging from 40 in Pickering to 200 in Norton on a weekly
basis.

• Next steps services will reduce hospital stays, reduce GP visits, and bridge the gap
whilst waiting for primary services. This improves beneficiary lives as well as help
reduce the time and financial burden on other services.

• The project will help prevent, reduce, or delay peoples need for statutory social care.
• Build resilience of the communities and residents, so people can live the life they
want, where they want, supported by resources available in their community.

• Building communities, places and safe spaces which will offer people some-where or
someone to turn to when facing difficult times and help them find solutions to their
challenges and move forward with their lives.

Shared Learning. Sessions will have outcome monitoring using WEMWEBS (Warwick,
Edinburgh, Mental Wellbeing Scale tool) to capture wellbeing outcomes, feelings and
thoughts, as well as case studies, beneficiaries’ meetings and steering groups, which
would pave the way for change and would also highlight good practices that work and
some that may not, for change.
